July 4th, 1776

What was the 13 original colonies in America, the new world, the new frontier, becomes the United States of America. Against insurmountable odds, our ancestors stood and fought for liberty, and freedom.

These were ordinary people facing the creation of history that was anything but ordinary. Farmers, bakers, bar keeps, black smiths, bankers. All fighting for freedom, some in the Continental Army which was formed by the Second Continental Congress at the onset of the Revolutionary War. Troops of the Continental Army under George Washington would find themselves living the legendary crossing of the Delaware River on December 25-26, 1776 as portrayed in the famous painting by George Caleb Bingham. The crossing of the Delaware by Washington and the Continental Army was planned as a surprise attack and ended in the defeat of German mercenaries in service to the British known as the Hessian. Washington and his troops again crossed the river on January 2nd, 1777 and defeated British reinforcements under Lord Cornwallis. Our Nation was fought for and founded by the absolute definition of the militia; we the people. In this, we must keep our history and traditions alive.

July 4th, 2020

Despite our history, and the events of 244 years ago to free ourselves from tyranny and to gain our independence and liberty from the grip of British rule, our great nation is divided more than ever. Much as the colonists had those among them that were loyal to the crown and were very much against rebellion and treason, we can clearly see history repeating itself.

Patriots are now the enemy. Nationalism has become a symbol of terrorism and right wing extremism. To have pride and love for sovereignty and the Constitution, is to be mocked and shown to be a disgrace and embarrassment. We now see blatant examples of socialism under the guise of progress and more of 'the new normal'.

We have to stop the division. There are those in office around the country to have absolutely no concern for Americans, their ideals, their history, or their heritage. All they are concerned with is who lines their pockets after purchased and fraudulent votes to buy the insurance that their agendas are followed into fruition. The media used to give unbiased information no matter the reporters personal beliefs or political beliefs. Now instead of the news we are faced with pure speculation and opinion, and sadly all too often, outright lies. The police and the rule of law are under attack, and we've seen our Constitution and Bill of Rights completely suspended for a pandemic, though a real concern, which has been blown way too far out of proportion for obvious political purposes.

So on this day, the 4th of July, the 244th birthday of the United States of America, take the time to remember. Remember history. Remember the thousands that gave their lives fighting to create this Nation. Remember the surrender of the British to the Continental Army in Yorktown, Virginia in 1781. Remember where America was, where we have been, and where we are now. No matter what, we HAVE to keep our way of life, our freedom, and our America alive. History has shown that most civilizations fall in 250-300 years. What we all have to do is to come together as one. No matter race, skin color, history or heritage. We have to fight back against those pulling the strings to bring the United States down, and to divide us to the point of no return. Are we there now? Time will tell as we continue to move forward into history.

No matter what, this we will defend. Otherwise all that our ancestors and founders worked and fought for will be for nothing. We cannot allow any of it to happen.

From all of us, have a safe and happy Independence Day. God bless the United States of America and all of her people.
